Windows 10 privacy issues

You might have read articles on the internet about how Windows 10 is basically spyware. According to some people it tracks everything you do and sends everything back to Microsoft.

Here is a typical article (I hope it's still there, it might get taken down): Windows 10 Worst Secret Spins Out Of Control

This might lead to a panic attack if you have installed Windows 10 and are worried that it is spying on you. However, another article tears it to shreds and points out that it is full of flaws. Read it after the first article: When it comes to Windows 10 privacy, don't trust amateur analysts

It shines a new light on those spyware claims. A lot of what Windows 10 does is just how modern software works. It expects to be connected to the internet and it makes extensive use of online resources. There's little to worry about.

There are still articles being published about how Windows 10 spies on you, although I have noticed a few writers being less harsh in their criticism recently.

Tracking which of the bundled apps people use most or how often Windows crashes and why could be useful in shaping how Windows works in the future. I would like an option to turn everything on or off. I'd probably leave it on, but I'd like the choice to be mine.

You wouldn't believe the number of ways in which people can be tracked these days. It's like trying to hold back the incoming tide. No, a tsunami of tracking. It's getting more like Orwell's 1984 day by day.
