My computer is quite slow and I think it is because of the hard disk drive. It always seems to be busy doing something, or waiting for something to happen. I want to upgrade to an SSD for extra speed. If I buy an SSD, how do I transfer everything from the HDD to it?
You should first look to the manufacturer of the SSD for software because they often provide free tools for copying the old drive to the new one. Take a look at Samsung for example.
There are third party tools that will do the job too, such as Paragon Migrate OS to SSD. It is not free, but I've heard good reports that it does the job well.
