Acer Aspire Z3-700 laptop desktop tablet thingy

PCs just don’t look like PCs any more and the size, shape and capabilities vary so much from one computer to another that there just aren’t names for the things that manufacturers are coming up with. Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, blur the lines between laptop and tablet, and now the Acer Aspire Z3-700 is a sort of three-way hybrid and it is part desktop, laptop and tablet. A true all-in-one.

The Aspire Z3-700 can be powered by a range of processors including Pentium and Celerons, it can have up to 8GB of RAM, a 1080p HD touchscreen, and SSD or hard disk storage.

The Aspire R 14 at least looks like a regular notebook, but it is what is called a convertable. It can be opened and used like a regular notebook, but the screen can also go all the way around so it is flat against the back of the keyboard. In this mode it is like a thick tablet. The specifications and price look good.

More details are in the Microsoft Windows Experience blog.
