The best tech podcasts

I like to listen to science and tech based podcasts. Which ones do people recommend? I listen to some from the BBC like Science in Action and BBC Inside Science, and also Tech Weekly from the Guardian. What does everyone listen to?

  • Nature is another great podcast if you are interested in science. Full details are at http://www.nature.com/nature/podcast/ :)
  • What is the best podcast app to use on Android? I have been using SoundCloud, which is OK, but strictly speaking it isn't a podcast app, although a lot of podcasts are on SoundCloud. Would do other people use?

The BBC makes a lot of radio programmes available as podcasts and I use the BBC iPlayer Radio app to listen to them. I don't know whether the app or the podcasts are accessible from outside the UK though - some BBC content can only be accessed from the UK. Can someone in the US try this?
  • mike-j, I was looking at podcast apps only the other day and spotted one that looks interesting. I downloaded it, but have yet to try it. It's called Podcast Republic and it allows you to browse all the podcasts at iTunes and subscribe to them. If it works as advertised, that would be a great feature. I'll probably try it at the weekend.
  • Jayflier, Podcast Republic has just been reviewed and it is excellent.
  • I listened to a great Ted Talks podcast yesterday. It's an hour long, but it was a brilliant discussion of how nothing is original. It ranged from Bob Dylan songs (3/4 of his early songs were copied from elsewhere), to Steve Jobs claiming the iPhone was an Apple invention.
