Playing songs using iTunes on the Apple Mac is straightforward and you can select one and click the play button. Playlists are also easy, but how do you play a complete album with all of its tracks? What if you want to play the tracks in a different order?

The Mac's Reminders app is useful for creating lists of things to do, such as tasks, jobs, projects, even shopping lists. You can easily enter one or more items with tick boxes and then tick them off when they are done. You can go further though, and use Reminders to remind you to do something at a specific location.

There is a teeny tiny bug in OS X and iOS that more than a few people have come across and it is related to iCloud. Everything can be running smoothly on your Apple Mac, iPhone or iPad when suddenly you are asked to enter your iCloud password to log in. People with Macs, iPads and iPhones have all suffered from this, but there is a solution.

iPhoto does a great job of organising your all of your digital photos. You just have to plug in an iPhone, iPad or digital camera and it imports all the snapshots you have taken and it stores them on the disk drive. It even organises them for you. But where exactly does it put them and how do you access them outside of iPhoto?

iPhoto on the Mac has some excellent editing facilities for enhancing photographs, fixing faults like brightness, saturation, contrast and so on. The usual way to edit a photo is to either double click it or to selected it and click Edit, but there is another way to edit photos and multiple images can be selected and edited simultaneously.

TextEdit is a basic, yet useful word processor and text editor that has been bundled with OS X on the Apple Mac for many years, but do you use it for anything or is it too basic for your needs? It can sometimes be frustrating to use, such as when you try to edit an HTML file, which after all is just plain text, to make some quick changes to your website. Do you know which applications use the most processing power in your Mac? Which apps does your iMac or Macbook spend the most time processing? It might be useful to find out and if your computer is running more slowly than you think it should be, it might enable you to identify the problem.
