Configure and play your favourite music

If you start Windows Media Center in Windows 7 and then using the mouse or the up/down cursor keys select Music in the menu, you will see that there is an option to play your favourites. Hang on a minute though, what exactly are your favourites and how do you define them, or how does the program define them? Windows Media Center actually looks for music with specific criteria and it is useful to know what these are and how to change them so it really does play your favourite music.
In Windows Media Center's menu, select Tasks and then Settings. Select Music and then Favourite Music. You will see that there are three options and the default settings are to include music that has been rated as four or five stars, music that has been played the most, and everything that has been added in the last 30 days. You can use the tick boxes to customise these settings. Save the new settings if you have changed them.
Now Windows Media Center has a better idea of what to play when you tell it to play your favourites.
