Do you like to write? Then why not create content for RAW Computing? Content is urgently needed, so if you have an interesting idea, a story to tell, a great app or web service you have discovered, and so on, then share it with the world.
The only requirement is that it is somehow related to your favourite computer, operating system or software. It doesn’t matter whether it is Windows 7 or 8, Linux, PC hardware or peripherals, or the internet, email and web browsers. The article could be a news story, a comment piece, tips, tweaks, advice, help, step-by-step guides, software or hardware reviews and so on.
We all use a computer, so why not write about how you use them? It would be great to have you on board as a regular writer, but one-off articles are fine too.
No qualifications are necessary, providing your writing is good and easy to read. It’s an opportunity to further your experience and it could be the start of a freelance writing career. It can be a lot of fun and very rewarding writing for the web.
Requirements
The ideal article would be at least 500 words and have an image, but it really depends on the subject and it could be longer, and it could have more images. You must have written the text yourself and it must be original. Do not copy and paste from elsewhere, such as a press release, and articles that you have already posted on other websites aren’t of interest. The image(s) included must be free to use, either taken yourself, public domain, free use with photo credit. Positive articles are preferable to negative ones and are much more interesting, so if you have found a great product, hidden feature, tip and so on, that would be ideal.
Your author bio/credit will be included so everyone can see who the author is. You can share the link to your article with everyone on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks The more you can share links, the better.

Tips for writers
Coming up with ideas for articles is probably the hardest task facing a writer. What should you write about? Many people rarely venture past the obvious menus and buttons in Windows and in popular software. Explore little used menus, scour the help file for obscure details, look in the settings for unusual options. Applications are updated often and most people don’t realise that there are new features, so write about them or show a step-by-step guide to using a new feature.
Screen shots are really useful in an article, but how do you take them? On a Windows or Linux PC, press the PrtScrn key on the keyboard. Open a paint program or photo editor and paste it in to a new image. You can then save it, email it, share it, edit it, and so on.
